October Mommy & Toddler Favorites.

As I write this, it is October 30th, Halloween Eve. October is at an end and we are just four weeks away from Thanksgiving and seven from Christmas. Is it me or does time go by faster as you grow older? I think that this is all relative, meaning that the more years you experience, the faster time goes. But anyhow, that’s for another post, for this one I would like to share with you Nico and I’s favorites for October!!!

Daniel Tiger Rain Boots & Woody Cowboy Boots 

A few weeks ago I decided to let Nick wear his cowboy boots so that he would break them in for Halloween, the kid is obsessed. He wears them all the time, with pajamas and even with shorts. If you are looking for cowboy boots for your little one, I would definitely recommend these. They seem pretty comfortable. Although the first time Nick wore them he walked kind of funny, it took only a few minutes for him to get used to them and now even runs in them. YeeHaw!!

Like the exaggerated Californians that we are, when we heard that we were expecting rain I quickly ordered these adorable rain boots from Amazon. Unfortunately, since we got them it has rained a total of 1 hour. Nick doesn’t seem to mind, however, as he switches between the cowboy boots and the rain boots every few minutes. He even learned how to put on the rain boots all by myself, on the wrong foot mind you, but still I’ll take it as an achievement haha. These boots are adorable and seem pretty sturdy. I wanted to find boots that matched his raincoat which is navy blue with white anchors but these were just too cute to pass up.

Toy Story DVD & Woody Vans

Toy Story brings so many memories from my childhood. Its definitely a classic must have in your home. Also, who else got some of the Toy Story vans for their kids … or themselves? Nick hasn’t actually worn these since I got him a 6.5 and he’s barely between a 5.5. and a 6. I did this because I wanted him to be able to wear them for a little longer. If you didn’t get your hands on a pair, definitely check out the vans website, I’m sure they’re still available.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

I’m not going to lie, as a full time attorney and mom I have very little time for leisure reading. However, this book caught my eye so I decided to give it a try. I’m barely in the first few pages but I love it so far. Hopefully I can finish it this month, but probably not. I’m going to wait until I read the series to watch the movie. Don’t spoil it for me!!

The Happy Planner Mini

Technically my first week in my new planner will be this upcoming week, but I am just so in love. I absolutely dislike having to carry around my big planners so this one is just the perfect size. To top off the good news, I got the planner and a 6 month extension pack for only $13 when I used the Michael’s 50% off coupon. I definitely am planning some “Plan With Me” posts on this new baby, who’s interested?

Milan and MAC Lipstics & NYC Mascara

I am going to confess, although I love makeup I am not only to splurge on it. I definitely have to really like something to spend the money. A few weeks ago while at MAC with a co-worker I came upon this beautiful matte shade of red lipstick that I could not pass up. I absolutely love the way it looks and wear it religiously in the weekends.

For weekdays and court appearances, I wear a much more subtle shade of lipstick. I picked up this Milani lipstick at the drugstore and absolutely love it. Its subtle but doesn’t wash me out like I feel that more nude colors do because of my skin tone. It makes me feel pretty and put together while not looking too overdone at the courthouse.

Just like I am not one to splurge on make-up unless I really like the item, I also love looking for drug store dupes for high end items. This mascara is very similar to the MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara. It lengthens and lasts a full 10 + hour day. For less than $2.00 its definitely a must try.
