Do you ever feel like you get lost in the hustle and bustle of life? To be honest, in October I felt like I was trampled. Life at the office was hectic, to say the least. I had court more times than I can remember and although I love going to court, this also means that I get less time for office work. Home life then becomes affected since the small amount of “free” time I have at night after Nick goes to sleep is used for office work. This is usually the time I dedicate to my blog, so now you know why I’ve been sort of MIA. In October we also had various commitments including two of our dearest friends’ wedding, and a quirky halloween party. Needless to say, sometimes we just need a lazy day to recharge.
Today was one of those days. Since daylight savings ended today for those of us in the U.S., although Nick woke up at his normal time, my husband and I felt surprisingly rested. We headed out to the grocery store before 8 AM and Nick and I spent the rest of the morning playing while my husband baked some yummy pumpkin empanadas for us. (Post to follow this week) Nick decided to take an early nap so I was able to get ready, prepare for my court hearing on Monday and my husband and I continued to binge watch Gilmore Girls. Is anyone else trying to watch all of the seasons before the Thanksgiving weekend release? We just started season 4 so we have to hurry haha.
When Nick finally woke up, he and I headed out to our local park while my husband so graciously stayed behind to clean up our mess. I love taking him to this park because it has a small petting zoo. Unfortunately it closes at 2 every day, so its difficult for us to take him during the week. Nick was in love with the little animals that were running lose outside. One of his favorites was definitely the pig, who thankfully was inside and Nick couldn’t get to.
Silly me thought that the day was nice and cool but after about twenty minutes at the playground Nick’s cheeks were stating to get flushed. The slides were also starting to get very hot so we decided to leave and go get my husband for lunch. Of course, we took a little detour and set up an impromptu outfit photo shoot for Nick, before we made it to the car.
Shirt: Circo for Target. Shorts: Genuine Kids from Osh Kosh. Hat: H&M. Shoes: VANS
My little one knocked out by 8:00 today. Although we had a “lazy sunday” I know he was exhausted by the end of the day. As for me, I am glad I had this day to enjoy my husband and son and recharge since November will be just as hectic at work.
I hope you enjoyed your weekends. The day definitely seemed a lot longer (and tiring) due to Daylights Savings, did anyone else feel that way? I hope you enjoyed our little adventure and Nick’s outfit. See you in a few!
XOXO- L.
