Mommy and Son Outfit Of The Day, The Desert Is Our Backdrop.

I am a boy’s mom. There are no cute little dresses or adorable little skirts in my house, well unless you count mine (lol). Pre motherhood, I always thought girls had more of a selections hen it came to clothes and accessories. Over this past year and a half, however, I have found how adorable boys’ style can be too. My favorite, is when my husband and son dress alike or when I can match my son. Of course, this will only fly for a few more years.

For this post I decided to take advantage of the desert background about two weeks ago when we visited my in-    laws in the Coachella Valley. Mind you, when my husband and I began dating about ten years ago there was a lot more open desert than there is now. He hasn’t lived in the Valley for over 10 years so we were both surprised when we were unable to find an open enough spot for our photoshoot. Needless to say, we had to do with what we had.

For this outfit, Nick is wearing the top left hand corner style.

Nick and I are sort of matching. I love finding small details for Nick to stand out. His socks are some of my favorite, from the awesome Cat and Jack for Target line. They add just enough to the outfit. His shirt is from H & M, we bought it over the summer so they no longer carry it but H & M is definitely my go to for cute and fun shirts like this one.

As for my outfit, I have been living in this Knit Bodycon Dress I picked up from Forever 21 a few months back. I love how stretchy it is since it allows me to move freely wen chasing my little one around. Although this dress looks great with heels, I opt for comfy shoes such as these Toms on weekends. Excuse the awkwardness, of course as soon as we parked a gazillion cars decided to drive by making our first photoshoot very awkward. And thanks to hubs for being our photographer!

XOXO – L.

    1. Yes, definitely. It almost makes it that much more fun because you have to really think about the outfit lol.

  1. So cute!! I have 2 boys and a girl and can attest that dressing boys is just as fun as dressing girls!! Love the pics – looks like a fun day!

  2. You two are so cute! Love your coordinating outfits. I had to learn that boys can be fun to shop for too! I still find myself glancing through the girls section. Even more so now that my son is getting older and the clothes aren’t as cute. It’s still fun to hunt for the cute things.

    1. Oh I’m dreading when he gets older. Maybe I’ll get lucky and get a girl next time lol.
